Local pet boarding, grooming business undergoes a master expansion

Anne Dysinger’s business expansion was completed last month, just in time to house its four-legged Masters guests.

Dysinger, owner of Paws in Paradise Luxury Resort & Spa located at 4319 Evans to Locks Road in Evans, now has two new 5,400-square-foot buildings that accommodate mostly dogs but also cats. The upscale business offers a variety of services, including overnight boarding, grooming, and dog training.

The $3 million expansion includes a cat condo for the feline guests.

She said the expansion project cost more than $3 million and added about 160 rooms to the facility. The buildings were constructed by GSP, LLC in Martinez, and construction began in July 2022.

“We were bursting at the seams in that original building,” Dysinger said.

Prior to opening the new buildings, there were times when she had to turn away business because they were completely full. Paws in Paradise used to have 30 employees, but that number has climbed to 40, and she plans to hire about another 20 employees.

The new 5,400 square foot building can accommodate more 4-legged friends, just in time for the Masters.

They currently have 180 overnight guests. Of course, the cats have their own room called Purr Paradise.

“There’s truly nothing like it in the area,” Dysinger said. “We’re the only facility that has overnight staff.”

In 2020, they planned the expansion project, but Covid changed those plans. While her staff are busy tending to their guests this week, her customers are making future reservations.

“We already have people booking for Masters next year,” she said.

Paws in Paradise never closes and is open for tours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. For more information, visit pawsinparadiseresort.com/ or call 706-750-9042.
