Local podcasters go behind the scenes to promote CSRA with the Masters Week show

Next week, you can watch Masters coverage on CBS or ESPN, but David Bash and Chris Nabholz, want to show you what’s happening behind the scenes in the CSRA during tournament week.

Bash and Nabholz, owners of GetUp Productions, will produce the second annual Bobby Jones Invitational Show, a watch-along party, from Wednesday, April 6 to Sunday, April 10 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The show will be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube, among other platforms.

“The concept of the show is you still watch the tournament, mute it and watch our show,” Bash said.

The Bobby Jones Invitational will feature golf commentary and discussion on a variety of topics, such as local restaurants, entertainment, and sports betting.

This year’s hosts are local musician Ryan Abel, Tour Junkies Podcast, co-founder David Barnett and Augusta Golf Collective founder, Zack Tully. Guests will include former caddies and local musicians, as well as Augusta businessman, Coco Rubio, and former Augusta Mayor, Deke Copenhaver.

Zack Tully, founder of Augusta Golf Collective, will be a host of the podcast.

The show will be taped at Augusta Chiropractic Clinic, the office of Dr. Robert Milhous, located near the Augusta National Golf Club at 2321 Washington Road. Despite its location, the show won’t focus solely on that part of town.

“We want to promote the downtown scene, Columbia County scene, and other areas, like North Augusta,” Bash said.

Last year, they tested the concept, which Nabholz thought would never work, but it did. The show was taped at theClubhou.se from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. He said a few thousand people watched it.

“It was a good production, but we threw it together in one month,” Nabholz said.

This year, they’re adding hospitality to the event, which will be held in the clinic’s parking lot. It will include tailgating, food, and drinks provided by Savannah River Brewery, Second City Distilling Co., and Durty Gurl Cocktail Mixers.

This event, which is by invitation only, was created for sponsors, friends, and local businesses that have registered.

Bash said the original venue was Lake Olmstead Stadium, but structural problems prevented them from using that location.

“Originally, we had planned to partner with XPR Augusta,” he said.
