When you think of rock stars, names like Jon Bon Jovi, Axl Rose and Paul McCartney may come to mind. But the Georgia Department of Economic Development has selected its list of 2022 Small Business Rock Stars award winners, and Loop Recruiting, a local staffing agency, has been included on that list.
To commemorate Small Business Week (May 1-May7), six businesses throughout the state have been chosen to receive the award based on their local impact and community service. Each company was founded in Georgia and has fewer than 100 full-time employees.
Loop Recruiting, which provides staffing and recruiting services for technology jobs, is the only one in the CSRA to win the award this year.
Founded in 2015 by Jason Kennedy and Charlie Wall, Loop recruits both temporary and long-term employees for jobs in a variety of technical fields, such as cybersecurity, digital marketing and software development. Some of these clients include TaxSlayer and Unisys.
Loop works with more than 100 companies in 12 states. It has offices in Augusta, Atlanta and Spartanburg. The company was selected for the 2021 Augusta’s Entrepreneur award by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces in 2021.
According to the Georgia Department of Economic Development, almost 99 percent of Georgia companies are small businesses. The department, along with the Georgia Economic Developers Association, created the Small Business Rock Stars award.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and our Small Business Rock Stars truly illustrate the impact these businesses have on their communities,” said Commissioner Pat Wilson. “In diverse industry sectors and geographies, this year’s winners provide economic vitality, hope and opportunities to Georgians across the state.”
Each business will be featured on the department’s Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as videos recorded by the department. Loop will be featured on social media on Friday.
