Virgo Gambill Architects, a fixture in Augusta for nearly 40 years, has merged with McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture, a firm with offices throughout the Carolinas and Georgia. The merger took place on Dec. 7.
Virgo Gambill Architects, a collaboration of Steve Virgo and Joe Gambill, has served the Augusta, Evans, North Augusta, Aiken, and surrounding communities since 1984 in a wide range of areas ranging from healthcare to government and from churches to commercial. Notable works in the area include the Richmond County Municipal Building, True North Church, Augusta Regional Airport, Wheeless Road Elementary, and a number of Centers for Primary Care.
“Our merger with McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture provides a significant investment to help us best serve the forward design and planning needs of our growing region,” Virgo Gambill owner, Joe Gambill said in a press release. “Our prior design partnership on several projects has demonstrated how well our firms are aligned together.”
McMillan Pazdan Smith now has eight offices in the Southeast, including Augusta and Atlanta in Georgia, Charlotte and Asheville in North Carolina, and Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Spartanburg in South Carolina.
