Fifteen years is a long time to survive in the food business at one location, but all good things come to an end.
The lease at the Osaka Sushi Restaurant in Evans ends on Saturday and that’s when lunch and dinner will be served for the last time there. The restaurant is in the Center at Evans Shopping Center, behind the Murphy USA gas station on Washington Road, next to the Evans Walmart.

Osaka owner, Ms. Judy and her husband felt the time was right to roll their last sushi rolls and prepare authentic Japanese and Korean dishes. The pandemic, health issues, and a ticking clock on the lease made retirement an easy choice.
“I knew it was coming,” said Jim Tochterman. “I am going to miss them. It’s my favorite place.”
Those who entered an Augusta Business Daily contest on Thursday have fond memories.
“I love that place. Love Judy,” said Jennifer Dixon.
Those in business understand the decision.
“Ms. Judy and her family are some of the nicest people” added Manor Builders Supply, GM Barry Patterson. “Sad to hear but they deserve a wonderful retirement.”
