Onnie Sanford has already expanded her business, but the entrepreneur wants to help other small businesses grow by providing them more exposure to potential customers.
Sanford, the owner of Paleo Num Yums and OPP Kitchen, 359 Furys Ferry Road, Martinez, will host a Holiday Market on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at her store. So far, six vendors have signed up, and Sanford would like to find six more. She’s looking for “artists and artisans” that sell unique products people can use as Christmas gifts or keep for themselves.
“There are always people looking to branch out in their business, so it’s good to have them in one central location,” Sanford said. “I think there’s a lot of fantastic talent here that people don’t realize.”
During the event, she said most of the vendors will be located in the parking lot, while the food will be located inside OPP Kitchen. The shared kitchen space is currently being used by several food businesses, such as Uprooted Vegan Cuisine, PJ’s Snacky Sack, and Yaya’s Philippine Cuisine on a rotating basis.
A new business that just joined, Thalia’s Baklava, will use the holiday market as her meet-and-greet with the event’s attendees. Another business, ZipChef, which sells a variety of pre-made frozen meals, will also roll out its holiday menu at the event.

Sanford said they previously held a similar event and had eight to ten vendors and a steady customer turnout. She would like to make it an annual event.
“We have a good location for it,” Sanford said.
