Savannah River Mission Completion’s (SRMC) small business program manager has been honored with national recognition for excellence in supply chain management.
Ashley Hannah was named a Workplace Innovator as part of the 2025 Women in Supply Chain awards. The Women in Supply Chain award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship, and examples set a foundation for women at all levels of a company’s supply chain network.
As Small Business Program Manager, Hannah is responsible for strategic planning and direction of the small business program and developing a diverse, qualified supplier base for the SRMC mission.
“She immediately evaluated the small business program, determined areas for improvement, and began initiating new programs and processes to help the company,” said Bret Evans, SRMC senior vice president. “Under her leadership, SRMC has exceeded expectations, goals, and commitments in our small business partnering and contracting. Ashley is absolutely deserving of any and all awards or recognition that comes her way because she’s earned it.”
As a federal contractor with a technically challenging mission and specialized scope of work, it can be difficult for small businesses to know how to work with SRMC, according to Hannah. But she enjoys bridging that gap to help teach businesses how to navigate working with SRMC.
“Most dollars that are spent with small businesses stay in local communities and do not go to shareholders that could be anywhere,” Hannah said. “I have worked with small businesses throughout my career and see the opportunity, dedication, and drive of small business owners. These entrepreneurs put so much of themselves into their work and usually are active in their communities—it is inspiring.”
As a workplace innovator, Hannah empowers the SRMC team through training and regular communication so that they not only know what the priorities are, but also how to address any challenges using the resources and tools available. She makes it known how important it is that people know what to do and have the confidence to put together strategies for utilizing a small business.
Hannah also manages SRMC’s Mentor Protégé Program, an initiative that develops small business suppliers in their own business, as well as builds collaborative partnerships with SRMC. She was also part of the team that contributed to a cost savings of $2 billion for the Department of Energy.
