This week, more than 150 students are in town for the largest CyberPatriot Camp ever held. The camp hosted by the Alliance for Fort Eisenhower began yesterday and runs through Friday, June 7.
The so-called Standard CyberPatriot Camp is designed for beginners with no prior cybersecurity knowledge and covers topics such as the CyberPatriot competition, cybersecurity careers, cyber ethics, online safety, computer fundamentals, virtual machines, and cyber threats.
Following this, from June 24-28, the team will make history again by hosting the largest Advanced CyberPatriot Camp in the nation’s history. Both camps which are entirely free and full for these two sessions, will be held at the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center.
The Advanced CyberPatriot Camp, taking place from June 24-28, offers a flexible curriculum tailored to the interests and needs of the students. Both camps conclude with a CyberPatriot competition on the final day.
CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air & Space Forces Association. Its mission is to inspire K-12 students to pursue careers in cybersecurity and other STEM disciplines critical to our nation’s future. At the core of the program is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, the largest such competition in the country, which challenges high school and middle school students to secure virtual networks.
“Hosting the nation’s largest CyberPatriot camps is a remarkable achievement for the Alliance for Fort Eisenhower/Alliance for Cyber Education (ACE) team. These camps are crucial for inspiring the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. By providing students with hands-on experience and exposing them to real-world cybersecurity challenges, we are not only preparing them for future careers but also strengthening our nation’s cyber defenses,” said Dr. Tom Clark, Executive Director for the Alliance for Fort Eisenhower.
