New auto business to open in crowded field

The Driven brands of automotive companies is getting ready to add its first car wash facility in the CSRA, after building six oil change shops in a short period of time.

Jordan Trotter represented the landowner in a transaction that will allow Driven to build a Take Five Car Wash on a large tract of land on the Gordon Highway.

“We operate the world’s largest local car wash conglomerate, washing more than 35 million cars a year through a network of more than 900 locations in 14 countries across Europe, the U.S., and Australia,” in a statement on the Driven brand’s website.

Take Five offers full-service washes and monthly membership programs. The closest location is in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, with several operating in Columbia.

The car wash will be built directly across the highway from the Southgate Shopping Center.

ABD has put a call into Driven’s corporate headquarters in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and is awaiting comment on the following:

  • When construction begins
  • When the car wash opens
  • If their oil change shop will share the location

There are five Take Five Oil Change shops in Augusta and Evans and one in Aiken. They offer oil changes, routine maintenance, and a 25% discount for those affiliated with the military.

Meineke and Maaco are also under the Driven brands of automotive businesses.
