Visitors to the 17-floor building at 699 Broad Street will notice a few changes in the future. The AU building will be renamed Wellstar Tower, and people will be able to enjoy Edgar’s Above Broad, the Pinnacle Club and now visit a new showroom filled with desks, chairs, and many workplace solutions.
Young Office, a 70-year-old company just moved into a 2,500 square foot space on the 1st floor.
“The ground floor of the building is really ideal for retail or other businesses that have walk-in traffic,” said Derek May, President of Azalea Investments, the building’s owner and a tenant in the building.
“We believe it’s healthy to have a wide variety of businesses in the building. When it makes sense, these businesses can find ways to work together. Multi-tenant office buildings create a great environment for collaboration and relationship-building.”
There are approximately 20 tenants in the 188,000-square-foot building, according to Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate, the leasing and asset/property management company for the building.
Those include the aforementioned restaurant/event venues along with anchor tenant Wellstar’s administrative offices, several law offices, non- profits, and other professional service firms.
Young Office is based in Greenville, South Carolina with six other locations in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. It was important for them to be in downtown Augusta.
