It’s taken a Thomson restaurant less than a year to be recognized as one of the best in the state.
Bordeaux Steak & Seafood, 250 Bordeaux Way, Thomson, opened on Feb. 15 but was recently nominated as one of Georgia’s best steakhouses by Georgia Business Journal.
“We have an experienced staff, excellent food, and an inviting atmosphere,” the restaurant’s General Manager, Patricia “PJ” Johnson, said. “Everybody enjoys our atmosphere, cuisine, and service.”
Bordeaux serves a variety of menu options, including filet mignon, pasta primavera, and chicken cordon bleu. According to Executive Chef, Jonathan Aviles, the two most popular dishes are the mesquite ribeye and seafood medallions. Aviles said customers are very pleased with the food.
“We have people coming from Atlanta,” he said. “It’s stuff they’ve had before, but it’s a little different flavor.”
Besides the main dining room, Johnson said the restaurant also has a private dining room that seats up to 50 people, an event venue next door that seats 300, and a full bar.
Each year, Georgia Business Journal chooses the Best of Georgia in various categories, such as Food & Drink, Shopping, and Real Estate.
“We rely on the opinions of thousands of consumers from the streets of Georgia,” the journal said. “Once the results of our polls come in, we vet our candidates through reputable sources, like the Better Business Bureau, to ensure they’re solid contenders.”
Winners in each category are classified as Best, Regional Winners, or Honorable Mentions. Voting ends Monday.
Johnson is happy about being nominated for the Best of Georgia competition.
“I’m excited about the exposure and the appreciation,” Johnson said.
