Noble Jones opens for downtown lunch options

Chef J.D. Wier recently revamped his menu and began offering lunch again, and, so far, his diners have been pleased with the changes.

Wier owns Noble Jones, a Southern-style eatery located at 816 Cotton Lane off Reynolds Street, the former home of the Cotton Patch. The restaurant serves a variety of sandwiches, such as chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. It also offers several types of meat dishes, including chicken wings, sausage, and baby back ribs, which, according to its menu, are only offered on Friday and Saturday.

The previous menu included different types of entrees, such as country-fried steak and shrimp and grits. But he decided to incorporate more barbecued meat into his menu.

“Our guests seem to really enjoy the updated concept,” Wier said. “This menu gives everyone an opportunity to pop over for a quick barbecue-style lunch, which is something we haven’t had downtown in a while.”

Noble Jones serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, and dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. No reservations are required for lunch.

“We have a meat market-style menu while still offering lighter options with our fish of the day and salads,” he said.
