Real Talk Real Estate: Don’t leave $$$ on table when you sell!

If you find yourself feeling like now is the time to sell, you will not have to wait long for a buyer. Most homes are selling for 100% of the listing price and officially closing the sale within 48 days! Here are a few quick things I feel strongly are a must do if you decide to sell your home at anytime!

  • FRESH PINE STRAW OR MULCH – Cleaning up your landscaping is an easy and inexpensive way to present a well maintained home and ensure nice curb appeal.
  • ADD A WREATH AND FRESH FLOWERS AT YOUR ENTRY – You only get one shot to make a good impression and create a welcoming entry at your home.
  • DEEP CLEAN EVERYTHING – Clean behind and under all appliances, in all your cabinets and drawers, even the garage. Organize and declutter everything.
  • REMOVE ALL PERSONAL DECOR ITEMS – Well staged homes sell at approximately 6% higher than a home that has not been decluttered and staged. That leaves a lot of money on the table. I believe it is best if all pictures and anything with your name, monogram or family is removed before listing your home.

(See above photos I took—for a before and after look with and without personal décor items)

I have found that even though these few things can seem overwhelming at first, the results will be financially rewarding when you sell your home. Doing these simple decluttering and cleaning tasks will make it easier to be prepared for showing your home on short notice, and it will make moving out quickly more manageable.
