D-BAT, which is expected to open by the end of February, will be located at 705 North Belair Road near Roots Produce. The franchise will be owned by Corey and Kim Carpenter, and Bryce and Riki Massey. Corey played wide receiver for the Georgia Bulldogs, while Bryce played baseball for Augusta University and now serves as a teacher, athletic director, and coach with the Columbia County School System. The 20,000-square-foot facility will include batting cages, pitching machines, and a pro shop. D-BAT also provides private lessons, camps and clinics, primarily for athletes between the ages of 6 and 18. Founded in 1998 by brothers Cade and Kyle Griffis, the company has more than 80 locations throughout the U.S., including Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Texas, and New Jersey. D-BAT’s original location is in North Dallas.

According to the company’s website, many current and former Major League Baseball players have trained at its facilities, such as Dylan Bundy, pitcher for the Minnesota Twins; Clayton Kershaw, free agent and former pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers; and Archie Bradley, who previously played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cincinnati Reds, and the Philadelphia Phillies.

D-BAT Evans will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit dbatevans.com or dbat.net.
