Successful franchise owner sells two CSRA bakeries

After six years in business in Evans and two years in Aiken, Susan and James See sold their Nothing Bundt Cakes franchises last Thursday, August 22. It was a sweet ride for their family, employees, and customers, but they felt the time was right.

“We’ve been blessed, and we worked hard to be good stewards of the brand and to bring joy to our community by giving back, but we wanted to retire, travel, and see where God leads us next,” See explained.

The See’s had already put in hard work prior to buying the franchises. Susan was a practicing attorney with Fletcher, Harley, and Fletcher for 25 years. Her husband, James, worked for Rainbow Homes for 35 years. They gave it all up to bake cakes. In 2022, Susan was named the Business Woman of the Year by the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce. Now, she and her husband are ready for some R and R.

Rest assured; the two locations are in good hands. The new owner, Amy Miller, has experience as the Director of Operations for Celebration Cakes, the owner-operator of multiple Nothing Bundt Cakes bakeries nationwide.

“First of all, Susan and James have done a spectacular job. It’s exciting to work with them and their amazing team during this transition,” said Miller.

Miller oversees the operations of 17 Nothing Bundt Cakes stores and expects to open three more before the end of this year.

Celebration Cakes, the umbrella company for Nothing Bundt Cakes, is part of GenRock, a Palm Beach, Florida capital management firm which operates Quality Restaurant Groups. Their portfolio includes 350 franchised restaurants including Pizza Hut, Arby’s, Moe’s Southwest Grill, and Sonic Drive-In brands.

Nothing Bundt Cakes in Evans is in the Target shopping center on Washington Road. The Aiken bakery is in the shopping center next to Dollar Tree across Whiskey Road from Walmart.

According to Miller, “Our goal is to continue doing what Susan and James have done best, bringing joy to the CSRA and making someone’s day.”
