Sweet smell of baking success

With her husband’s encouragement, Angela Dragano started her own business three years ago, La Vita Bella, which means ‘It’s a beautiful life.’ Indeed, it’s been beautiful for this entrepreneur who has mastered custom cakes, catering, and event coordination from setup, to decorating and food.

Last week, she moved her commercial kitchen from her home to a new location, 908 Dougherty Road in Aiken. La Vita Bella’s hours will vary depending on their custom catering and cake orders. The days and times the new shop will open to the public will be posted on their Facebook page.

“The move was really out of necessity because the business has grown. We may have outgrown the space before we even opened it,” said Angela.

La Vita Bella will also be filling a popular niche, take and bake meals. Dragano’s first offering, shrimp creole, was a big hit.

“If folks follow our Facebook, we will post what we’ll be serving on which days and the pick-up times.”

Soups, several types of charcuterie boards, and of course desserts will be available. The custom cakes, which are like works of art, will still be available by special order for any occasion. For something really over the top, her husband, Glen is still lending his crafty touch with unique cake toppers.
