For the 11th year, a local online tax preparation company will sponsor a college bowl game.
TaxSlayer, LLC will sponsor the 77th annual Gator Bowl, which will be played at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville on Friday, Dec. 31 beginning at 11 a.m. Wake Forest University will take on Texas A&M University. Tickets are currently on sale and prices start as low as $44 each. At the game, four outstanding high school student-athletes will receive the Gator Bowl Charities Award of Excellence Scholarship of $2,500 each (see photo above of previous scholarship ceremony).
TaxSlayer is located at 945 Broad St., which was formerly occupied by the Family Y. The company has about 200 year-round employees and another 300 temporary support employees during tax season. Brian Rhodes – TaxSlayer’s Chief Executive Officer, says sponsoring the game is a way to increase the company’s brand visibility. “This sponsorship is an important way for us to share our vision with America’s taxpayers nationwide just as we, as a company, are getting ready to kick off tax season,” Rhodes states. “That incredible momentum helps carry us into our busiest and most exciting time of the year.”
