The Buzz on The Bee’s Knees

The Finem Group at Meybohm Commercial announced in a press release on March 30, that The Bee’s Knees space is now up for lease.

In November of last year, the popular hub in Downtown Augusta announced that it would permanently close its doors.

According to Meybohm Commercial, the space is an ideal layout for a restaurant, coffee shop, or bar, consisting of two serving areas with both a kitchen and a wet bar. The space is considered to be in great condition, requiring minimal buildout by a future leaseholder. Meybohm is asking for $24 per square foot for rent. The building is nearly 3,300 square feet, which will make the monthly payment approximately $6,500.

This property is located across the street from two other restaurants, Taco Cat and Pho-Ramen’L. It also shares the building with Manny’s off Broad Sports Bar, which was formerly The Hive.

Meybohm Commercial describes the space as one-of-a-kind, holding a great history in Augusta. They said they are excited about future opportunities the property has in store for the Downtown Augusta area.

“Almost 21 years ago, The Bee’s Knees helped pioneer modern dining in Downtown Augusta,” said John Eckley, MBA, Commercial Advisor and Vice President of Meybohm Commercials.

He is also Associate Broker and Civil Engineer for the agency.

“Over the years, this warm, centrally-located space, has been a gathering place for many seeking a unique culinary experience in a great atmosphere,” he said. “Out of appreciation for all this restaurant has meant to myself and so many, my hope is to see a new visionary restaurant take up the reigns!”
