Health and productivity are at the core of what Anthony Carlie wants to provide. His product is called Dominion Wellness Solutions.
He describes it as a human performance organization. It is all about building a healthier, more sustainable workforce, because a healthier employee makes the company more productive.
“I’ve worked in a lot of different industries in my career, and I’ve noticed that the higher performers were taking care of themselves outside of the workplace, doing their best to eat right, you know, stay active, and that translated into being more productive in the job,” he told ABD.
The timing of Carlie’s program coincides with a growing awareness of the relationship between physical health and mental health in the workplace.
“I believe the product is coming out at the right time,” Carlie explained. “The up and coming generations, Gen Z, in particular, they’re not even drinking as much as we used to, they’re all into fitness. They’re about being productive and being their best self, their most optimal self. So, it’s coming out at the right time.”
“People are the mission,” reads the company website. “We will empower businesses to thrive by improving the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of their employees through collaborative, data-informed, and holistic health interventions.”
At stake is a portion of the $500,000 pot created by the Magnate Angel Group. Divided among the members of the cohort, it is designed as seed money to help get the business off the ground.
“Very valuable,” said Carlisi. “I believe, when you’re faithful with a little bit, you’re rewarded with more. So, we’ll do the best we can to put the money in the right place and go from there.”
This cohort is the next step in Startup Summer. This part of Venture Lab Aiken is a virtual incubator with access to mentorship, training, and real-world tools to make ideas become successful businesses.
The cohort meets each Tuesday morning in theClubhou.se. A group of individuals with different paths, but one goal. To be successful entrepreneurs. Carlisi said the exchange of ideas is part of the cohort’s strength.
It’s invaluable,” he believes. “We’re in different points in our various businesses, but to see the progress that other people are making, it’s inspiring to see those that are ahead to see what we have to look forward to, and then to see those that might be a little step behind us. Just to motivate and encourage someone else.”
Carlisi hopes to make his business appealing to one of Metro Augusta’s largest population bases.
“The goal is to work with military organizations. This kind of program is very big in the hands or in the minds of the army leaders. So, I want to take care of our warfighters, our men and women, as best as we can,” he said.
