Restaurant demolition starts

Demolition began this week on the latest bit of property to be added to Augusta National Golf Course on Washington Road. Thompson Wrecking, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021, typically demolishes buildings on behalf of Augusta National. They just started the demolition of Wendy’s restaurant in National Hills. The last day of business for this Wendy’s was Sunday, July 17. Popular restaurant to expand with new south Augusta location

South Augusta residents will soon have a new dining option that won’t require a trip to Columbia County or South Carolina. That Flippin’ Egg, which already has locations on Washington Road in Evans and Richland Avenue in Aiken, plans to open its third location at 3313 Mike Padgett Highway just off Interstate 520. Simon Says: Augusta’s hospitality industry reaches a milestone

A major Augusta milestone was achieved with May’s employment data published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics: Leisure and hospitality employment surpassed the pre-pandemic peak.
