David Jameson, president of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce, was enthusiastic about the turnout for the group’s “Buy Local” expo at the Exhibit Hall at the Western Carolina State Fair Grounds last Thursday, June 17. But then, does anybody remember when David wasn’t enthusiastic about having a good day in Aiken?
A few days before the event Jameson had to add on to the venue because “we need more room for all the businesses who want to exhibit what they do.” In all, 64 companies had employees, and in many cases, their presidents and CEOs, manned their booths to meet over 500 people who came out to see the extraordinary mix of services and products offered by local Aiken and Aiken-area companies.
When all was said and done, it was a fun event, not only because it was packed and there was so much to see, but at every booth, the enthusiasm level of all the employees was very high – like people who enjoy their work interacting with the public.
