Aiken entrepreneur joins the crowded digital marketing field

It’s long been said there is a drugstore on every corner and there just might be a digital marketing company nearby. The two have little in common except for the sheer numbers of both types of businesses.

That fact has not deterred Christa Turner from entering the crowded field of website development, PPC, SEO, and the full slate of digital acronym offerings.

She is an Aiken native with a family history of entrepreneurial spirit; her grandmother started Supply Services Company in 1970. Turner is blazing her trail with Shining Sons Enterprises.

“There are a lot of digital marketing agencies, but I am focused on setting us apart by nurturing each customer and making sure they get what they pay for and that we are accountable,” Turner explained.

According to IBIS World, which provides research on a variety of industries, there are almost 7,000 digital marketing agencies across the country and more than 40 of them are in the CSRA. The growth in that sector is about 12 percent annually, so maybe there is room for one more.

“I believe the level of care for each client and the weekly and monthly updates will also set us apart from our competitors,” Turner said. “We will not be a one-size-fits-all, but tailor our array of services to the customers’ needs.”

Turner says the Google page, a strong website, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are crucial to building successful businesses and helping potential customers find your business.

Christa Turner and her sons recently cut the ribbon for Shining Sons Enterprises at the Aiken Chamber.

She was a Deputy in the Sheriff’s Department for four years and also worked in the family business. When she set her sites on digital marketing, Turner studied courses that would result in offering the services that would help grow businesses. She also gets support from Business Network International.

She is the mom of two boys, Noah and Joshua, thus the name Shining Sons Enterprises. Family connections don’t stop there.

Turner’s focus is on simplicity in the complex world of digital marketing.

“I remember despite my grandmother’s business success, she was once given a contract that was so long and verbose, she didn’t understand it,” Turner said. “I decided then that I would never do that to anyone.”
