Some companies reward positive work performance with a pizza party. But an Augusta-based staffing company recently gave one of its employees a brand-new car.
On Wednesday, Jan. 4, Sizemore, Inc.’s President and CEO, Preston Sizemore delivered a 2023 Kia Rio to Maria Juilia Rodriguez, a housekeeping supervisor with the company’s Fulfillment Center in Tampa. Rodriguez has worked for the company since Jan. 2022, according to Joey Warren, Sizemore’s senior corporate communications coordinator.
“It was open to all non-administrative employees companywide,” Warren said. “We announced the contest in June.”
At that time, ABD ran a story about the giveaway. To be eligible, employees were required to maintain perfect attendance and good work performance throughout the six-month promotional period. Warren said there were close to 230 employees who were eligible to win the car.
The purpose of the giveaway was to provide an extra incentive for employees to come to work and do a good job. He said as far as he knows, this is the first time Sizemore has held a car giveaway.

“We’ve given away little things in the past, but nothing of this magnitude,” Warren said.
He isn’t sure if the company will offer a similar promotion this year.
“We’re always looking for ways to incentivize our employees and promote morale,” Warren said.
Sizemore announced the winner of the drawing on Christmas Eve.
