The food may not have changed, but Five Guys Burgers and Fries has a new vibe at their store on Washington Road in Evans. The franchisee tells ABD that the entire lighting package was changed along with customers enjoying new and more comfortable furniture in the dining room. Countertops are also new and customers will notice a big change in flooring. Tiles have been installed throughout the restaurant. The former operator of the Pot Smoker on Highway 25 in North Augusta will be offering up similar food under a new brand. Robert Whitfield announced on Facebook over the weekend that he’ll be starting with a Parker’s Brisket, Ribs, and More food truck with plans to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Wrens. His menu includes BBQ chicken, pork, brisket, and whole chicken. Gary Gibson, owner of two Gary’s Hamburgers restaurants in the CSRA was awoken Friday to calls from his restaurants, after an anonymous person in the group, “Disgusta” said after 40 years Gary’s restaurants would close at the end of September. “That’s totally false,” said Gibson. The group has 82,000 members and allows its members to gripe about issues in the CSRA. Gibson wonders if upcoming, temporary store closings may have caused the post. Due to staffing shortages here at the North Augusta store and the Washington Road store, each store
