Local German restaurant reopens without its founder

For Mark Grant and his family, reopening Adolf Hermann’s successful German restaurant in Evans has been no easy task. Hermann owned and operated Augsburg Haus – located at 4460 Washington Road in the Liberty Square Shopping Center across the street from Walmart, until his death on Sept. 1 at age 56. To mourn his passing, the restaurant closed that day and reopened on Wednesday, Oct. 13, says Mark Grant, his son, who helps his mom, Hazel, and his sister, Wendi, run the restaurant. New business to open in former site of Atlanta Bread Company

ABD previously reported construction work being performed in the former site of Atlanta Bread Company in Augusta. The building, located at 255 Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway next door to Panda Express, will soon be occupied by America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses (see their banner). Augusta business and political leaders tried to keep T’s Restaurant open

The Augusta Commission and the Augusta Economic Development Authority worked together to develop a plan to keep the iconic South Augusta restaurant open.
