A Polished Finish, a Loganville, GA.-based business that specializes in countertops recently opened a showroom here in Augusta.
The Augusta showroom, located at 2907 Washington Road in Suite 710, opened in March and held a grand opening last month. Established in 2003, the business has worked with customers to provide custom, stone countertops for 20 years.
Jenny Hartzog, office manager of A Polished Finish in Augusta, said that though business was initially slow at the new location, more people are learning about the company.
“It was slow at first, but it’s starting to pick up,” she said. “We’re starting to get more people coming in.”
According to Hartzog, the location in Augusta was chosen because of the increasing need from customers.
“More people started to get into remodeling their homes,” she said.
Hartzog said Mark Hayes, the owner of the Loganville location, suggested the idea of opening another showroom area.
“He said, ‘Since they’re starting to do it more in Augusta, let’s just open up a showroom there so they don’t have to drive two hours to go see anything’,” Hartzog said.
The Augusta location also provides roofing needs. Hartzog explained that many homeowners might not realize that they have storm damage on their rooftops and shingles. It is free to have someone come out and assess a roof for storm damage.
“We originally started doing roofs for this area,” she said. “We do insurance claim restoration with insurance companies in roofs. We represent homeowners through the insurance process.”
Hartzog said that they have almost any major stone countertop customers are looking for, in addition to roofing.
“We have quartz, granite, quartzite, which is all-natural, marble and we also have roofs,” she said. “We can walk people through their insurance companies filing claims for storm damage. We kind of do a little bit of everything,” she said.
Hartzog said that though they don’t do cabinets or tile, she can refer customers to contractors that offer those services.
For customers looking for countertops, she said having a rough estimate helps to determine how much stone is needed.
“I would ask that they bring in measurements,” she said.
A Polished Finish can then take exact measurements and create a template for the area customers would like to do.
Hartzog said customers can choose to keep their sinks or add a new one to their estimate.
“We do have sinks available,” she said.
