Businesses can keep the dream alive this Thanksgiving

A local salon owner is leading efforts to encourage business leaders to help provide Thanksgiving dinners for the community.

Robyn Kelley, owner of Trendz Salon on the Riverwatch Parkway in West Augusta, says this year is more important than ever to buy turkeys and fixings.

“Normally at the Dream Center on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we have a communitywide meal where we feed upwards of 500 people.  This year we can’t do that because the Dream Center is in the process of being remodeled, so they still wanted to give back,” she said.

So, the plan is to welcome CSRA families to pick up a turkey with all of the fixings at no cost on Sunday, November 22nd from 4- 5 p.m. The goal is to provide 300 meals at South Augusta’s Dream Center and 50 meals at the Grovetown and Wrens campuses of Stevens Creek Church.

The cost of feeding the family of four is $55, including the turkey and all the sides pictured. If your company would like to sponsor a family, click HERE to donate.

Another option is to shop for individual items to help volunteers pack the bags.
