Simon Says: Georgia’s tricks of the trade on trading

The Georgia Department of Economic Development and Governor Brian Kemp recently announced that the State of Georgia achieved a record-breaking year for international trade for the second year in a row. Georgia’s total trade with the rest of the world totaled $196 billion in 2022. The press release emphasized the record-breaking $47 billion of exports, an increase of 11% on 2021. ATI Restoration, America’s largest family-operated restoration contractor, has announced the buyout of Venturi Restoration with an office in Augusta and in 16 other states. New amendment caps cost of James Brown Arena construction

Cost overruns on major construction projects are common, but an amendment has been approved to ensure that doesn’t happen in building the new James Brown Arena. The project has an estimated price tag of $240 million and the amendment caps it at $250 million.
