Downtown fast-food location closes

Arby’s may have the meats, but Augusta now has fewer Arby’s fast-food restaurants. The location at 1823 Walton Way between Papa John’s and Happy China II has closed permanently. An Evans eatery is officially gone, but its owner now faces the onerous task of clearing everything out of the building by the end of the month. Stay. Social Tap + Table closed its doors permanently on Friday, Dec. 30. Columbia County eatery closes its doors

There’s another empty spot at the former Jones Creek Golf Course. After nearly eight years in business, Katerwerks Grille left its restaurant operation in the Clubhouse at Jones Creek. ABD has learned the restaurant closed in July because its owners were unable to renew their lease. Mark Herbert, who owns the Clubhouse, said he plans to move another tenant into that building, but declined to provide any further information at this time. One Columbia County fitness center closes facility

While many gyms are gearing up for their busiest time of the year, one local fitness center is closing its doors permanently. ABD has learned Burn Boot Camp’s Grovetown location at 953 Branch Court closed on December 22nd after four years in operation. The owners of that franchise location also own and operate the Evans location at 4490 Washington Road, which has been operating for six years. “It’s time,” said Renee Hajek yesterday in advance of a social media post, announcing the permanent closing of her restaurant and bar, Stay. Social, Tap + Table, in Evans across from the Lady A. The stress of fighting for her liquor license for about three months took its toll. At issue was whether Hajek obtained more than 50 percent of her sales from food, the requirement after she received a grant and loan money from Columbia County to open Stay. Long-time Martinez dry-cleaning business to close in two weeks

For decades, people have brought their clothes to Silverstein’s Cleaners. But Friday will be the last day to drop them off before the business closes its doors permanently at the end of the month, according to one of its employees. Downtown restaurant to close permanently next week

In less than a week, downtown Augusta will lose one of its long-time restaurants. Women’s fitness center to replace Martinez yoga studio

Running a business is hard in the best of circumstances, but opening a business less than six months before the pandemic began made things harder. That’s what happened to Bethany Roley, co-founder of Good Vibes Yoga, Fitness & Wellness located at 4111 River Watch Parkway in Martinez. Now Roley and her business partner, Michele Guest, have decided to close Good Vibes, which will offer its final class on Saturday, August 27. They founded the studio in November 2019 and were forced to close it in spring 2020 due to Covid.
