Former home of popular downtown eatery now available

In November, owners of The Bee’s Knees, a downtown eatery that specialized in tapas, decided to close its doors after many years in business. But its former home is now available for lease, according to the Finem Group with Meybohm Commercial Properties. The more than 3,200-square-foot space is located at 211 10th St., next door to Manny’s Sports Off Broad and across the street from Tacocat. Food prep entrepreneur announces closing of her Martinez business

After six years, Onnie Sanford is closing her food preparation business, but her shared kitchen space isn’t going anywhere. On Wednesday, Sanford, owner of OPP Kitchen located at 359 Furys Ferry Road in Martinez, announced in a Facebook video that she has decided to close Paleo Num Yums, which offers a variety of healthy, high-protein/low-carb meals. Local department store to close this weekend

ABD has learned that the last day Bealls Outlet located near Walmart at 270 Bobby Jones Expressway, Suite 108 will be open is Saturday, Jan. 21. We have contacted both the store and the company to find out why that location is closing, but their representatives said they don’t know the reason for the closure. Downtown fast-food location closes

Arby’s may have the meats, but Augusta now has fewer Arby’s fast-food restaurants. The location at 1823 Walton Way between Papa John’s and Happy China II has closed permanently. An Evans eatery is officially gone, but its owner now faces the onerous task of clearing everything out of the building by the end of the month. Stay. There’s another empty spot at the former Jones Creek Golf Course. After nearly eight years in business, Katerwerks Grille left its restaurant operation in the Clubhouse at Jones Creek. ABD has learned the restaurant closed in July because its owners were unable to renew their lease. Mark Herbert, who owns the Clubhouse, said he plans to move another tenant into that building, but declined to provide any further information at this time. While many gyms are gearing up for their busiest time of the year, one local fitness center is closing its doors permanently. ABD has learned Burn Boot Camp’s Grovetown location at 953 Branch Court closed on December 22nd after four years in operation. The owners of that franchise location also own and operate the Evans location at 4490 Washington Road, which has been operating for six years.
