LIV golfers receive invites to play at the Masters

The battle over the new LIV Golf Tour won’t keep some of the world’s top golfers away from Augusta National. The golf world had questioned whether golfers who had left the PGA for the Saudi-backed tour would be allowed to play in the Masters Tournament. But last week, Augusta National Golf Club chairman, Fred Ridley announced that 16 members of the tour will receive invitations to play in the 2023 Masters, April 6-9. New York natives launch CSRA photo booth biz

When Katrena and her husband, Jason, moved to Augusta from New York City more than two years ago, she noticed there weren’t many businesses that offered 360-degree photo booth rentals, so she decided to start her own. Two local nonprofits work together to provide food, gifts for military families

Those serving our country in the military sometimes need a helping hand around the holidays. Two local organizations recently teamed up to provide some of that help for service members at Fort Gordon. Golden Harvest Food Bank helps to feed families facing food insecurity in 25 counties throughout the CSRA. “It’s time,” said Renee Hajek yesterday in advance of a social media post, announcing the permanent closing of her restaurant and bar, Stay. Social, Tap + Table, in Evans across from the Lady A. Local businesses sponsor families at Christmas airport event

On Saturday, Santa Claus came a little earlier than usual for many local children from underprivileged families, thanks to help from the CSRA business community. The Augusta Regional Airport and Richmond County Marshal’s Office hosted the fifth annual Santa’s Fly-In to provide toys for 136 kids from 40 families. “We partner with Augusta Partnership for Children, Inc. and work with local businesses and individuals,” said the airport’s Assistant Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Lauren Smith. “This is our biggest year yet, and we hope to continue growing.” Business sponsors

Augusta airport shares holiday travel tips

If you’re planning to fly the friendly skies this week, and you’re bringing Christmas gifts with you, you may want to wait until you arrive at your destination to wrap them, according to Lauren Smith.
