Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering big money to help entrepreneurs have a fighting start and to help a local research center save lives.
$800,000 of the $1.3 million will help Augusta University upgrade equipment at the Georgia Cancer Center, Augusta University’s cancer research center.
“This support will allow us to acquire advanced research equipment that will strengthen our scientists’ ability to detect, study, and ultimately combat cancer. For nearly 200 years, Augusta University and the Medical College of Georgia have been home to lifesaving discoveries that improve the health and well-being of families across our state and nation, and this investment helps ensure that work continues,” said Augusta University President Russell T. Keen.
Sen. Ossoff is also delivering resources to small business training programs across the state, including in Augusta, Lawrenceville, Athens, and Jonesboro.
“Through our Rural Small Business Impact Initiative in Augusta, the Greater Augusta Black Chamber of Commerce Foundation was awarded $500,000 to provide training, technical assistance, and programming to small businesses and entrepreneurs.”
This marks the second program (Senator Ossoff) supported for the CSRA region, and shows (his) commitment to creating real opportunities for our business community to grow and thrive,” said Ronic West, Founder, GABCC Foundation.
