Bank enters CSRA market to open multiple branches

Chase Bank is launching its first location in Augusta, across from the Augusta National Golf Course, and in time for thousands of people attending the Masters. Chase’s first branch is at 2805 Washington Road at Alexander Drive in the shopping center in front of Kroger. “We anticipate opening at least four branches in the (Augusta-Aiken) market over the next three years,” said Chase Bank’s spokesperson, based in Charleston, South Carolina. Humana and its senior-focused primary care brands, CenterWell Senior Primary Care and Conviva expect to add 20-30 clinics in 2025—including Augusta. Some will open inside Walmart locations—though it’s not clear if that will be the Augusta location. One furniture store replaces another

Last summer, Badcock Home Furniture & More announced it was closing all of its Georgia Stores. In the fall, the store in Washington’s Corner Shopping Center behind California Dreaming and Longhorn’s Steakhouse shuttered. In mid-December, the Augusta Furniture Outlet opened its place and has been heavily marketing on Facebook and its website with transparent pricing. The store is the size of some supermarkets in the CSRA and features a Living room, Dining Room, Bedroom, Mattress, Home Office, and Outdoor Furniture. Combatting nursing shortages thanks to $11.5 million legal settlement

Progress is being made on two major construction projects at Aiken Technical College (ATC) on Jefferson Davis Highway. SRMC Donation to Educate Workforce

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), the liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site (SRS) has donated $5,000 to the scholarship fund for the Augusta Technical College (ATC) Adult Education Program. The donation will be used in the Adult Education Program to provide financial assistance to students who have to take the General Education Diploma (GED) test.
