Hoax fools customers of fast food restaurant

Gary Gibson, owner of two Gary’s Hamburgers restaurants in the CSRA was awoken Friday to calls from his restaurants, after an anonymous person in the group, “Disgusta” said after 40 years Gary’s restaurants would close at the end of September. “That’s totally false,” said Gibson. The group has 82,000 members and allows its members to gripe about issues in the CSRA. Gibson wonders if upcoming, temporary store closings may have caused the post. Due to staffing shortages here at the North Augusta store and the Washington Road store, each store

Sponsored Review: Brinkley’s Chop House and Brinkley’s Tavern

My Melissa and Lyndee are meat and potato girls. You could call my wife a “filet snob” and my daughter has learned from osmosis (and her taste buds). Brinkley’s Chop House in North Augusta is known for its amazing steaks, but what the Gordons learned on a recent Saturday night is that change can be good, even great! About twice a year, Executive Chef, Ed DeFelice changes the menu to address seasonality. Adding different flavors, textures, and accompaniments to staple non-steak menu entrees like Chicken Breast, Duck, Salmon, Scallops, and

Business Lunch Review: Farmhaus Burger

Food Quality: 4 Service: 5 Business Meeting: 3 Value: 5 Overall Rating: 4.25 out of 5 I’ve been going to the gym with a friend every morning at 5:15, which is much earlier than I ever considered getting up, let alone working out. My next step will be improving my diet and finally learning that just because I exercise doesn’t mean I can eat whatever I want. For example, I know I can’t eat burgers and fries every day, but it can be the perfect meal, especially after a hard

Business Lunch Review: Metro Diner

Food Quality: 4 Service: 5 Business Meeting: 4 Value: 5 Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 If you go out to eat regularly, you may have noticed that many restaurants offer inconsistent food quality and service. But then, there are those eateries that diners can rely on for delicious meals and fast, friendly service. For me, Metro Diner has always been one of those eateries. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and its menu options include waffles, omelets, burgers, and seafood. One thing I like about Metro Diner is

Business Lunch Review: Chicken Salad Chick

Food Quality: 4 Service: 5 Business Meeting: 4 Value: 5 Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 I’ve always been a picky eater, but the list of foods I won’t eat is now much shorter than it used to be. I still don’t like mayonnaise or most dishes that are made with it. My wife always tells me that mayo is little more than eggs and oil, which are both foods I eat, but so far, that hasn’t changed my mind. My wife, Rebecca, and I recently visited Chicken Salad Chick

It’s not the Last Supper, but The Wildemount is offering a full-fledged Biblical meal on Monday, June 17 at 6:00 pm. Wildemount owner, Samuel O’Lone worked for eight years in the food service business, but his degree is in theology, which brings us to his latest offering. “I get random ideas about unique offerings for our restaurant.
