Chocolate champion for 20 years

You are invited to the 20th Anniversary of La Bonbonniere this Friday from 4 to 7 P.M.

No surprise. Chocolate is on the menu. Really good chocolate.

“Starting out in 2005, I never thought the business would grow to the success it is today, and it really is all thanks to the community.

“I started out with a small shop with the cheapest rent I could find, and we had a limited chocolate selection of around ten flavors. While ten flavors may seem like a good amount, all the chocolate was made with the most basic equipment, like a chocolate warmer, and a separate vibrating table. It was a tough start, and I gave myself two years to see if La Bonbonnière would make it or if it would be a flop, “said Bebette.

She added that because of her overseas background, she made it beyond the two-year test period.

“Thankfully, with Fort Gordon so close and with all the soldiers that have been overseas and sampled the chocolates available in other countries, they were able to appreciate the Belgian chocolates, and craved more.

Over the past twenty years, a lot has changed; we have moved not once but twice to accommodate the growth of the business. “

La Bonbonniere now occupies three spots at 231 Furys Ferry Road, the plaza bordering the Rivewatch Parkway.

“I now have better equipment to keep the chocolate at the correct temperature, and it is better than what I started out using. The flavor choices have not only increased but have also kept up with the current trends, and we still keep the quality that we are known for. I am proud to say that our community has helped make this little Belgian chocolate shop what it is today, without the amazing support, we wouldn’t be here!”

Bebette says she’ll provide a gift for the first 50 guests! A sweet reminder of 20 years in business.
