There’s another empty spot at the former Jones Creek Golf Course. After nearly eight years in business, Katerwerks Grille left its restaurant operation in the Clubhouse at Jones Creek.
ABD has learned the restaurant closed in July because its owners were unable to renew their lease. Mark Herbert, who owns the Clubhouse, said he plans to move another tenant into that building, but declined to provide any further information at this time.
The restaurant offered a variety of American-style menu options, including sandwiches, salads, steaks, and seafood. It was open to not only Jones Creek residents, but also the public. Before Katerwerks Grille moved into the Clubhouse, the neighborhood’s restaurant operated under a different name for several years.

Jones Creek Golf Club closed four years ago, after an unresolved lawsuit against Columbia County concerning stormwater runoff that flooded parts of the course. The course has been unused for golf since then, although some residents keep parts of it mowed, and the cart paths have become popular for walking.
Two years ago, the course was put up for sale as part of a foreclosure proceeding with a minimum bid of $1.505 million, but it failed to sell. There have been rumors of other potential buyers since then, but none has become public.
