Columbia County restaurant serves unique international dishes

If you’re bored with Taco Tuesday or need a place for this weekend for a date lunch or dinner, you might want to give Latin Flavor a try. The Martinez restaurant offers a wide range of Latin American dishes. Think Mexican cuisine with a bigger selection than a traditional Mexican restaurant.

Latin Flavor located at 3568 River Watch Parkway opened in August 2022 and serves a variety of dishes from Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic. Their menu includes a variety of soups and salads, empanadas, and sandwiches.

Maria Reyes Singh, the restaurant’s owner, said the most popular menu items include rice, beans, and chicken soup. Reyes opened the Taj of India on Furys Ferry Road 17 years ago. She wanted to open a new restaurant and knew the closest eatery that serves Latin dishes is in Aiken.

“I was checking the area, and there are a lot of Mexican restaurants,” said Reyes Singh, who hails from the Dominican Republic. “It’s a family restaurant, and everybody is welcome.”

She said she and her staff all greet customers as they enter the restaurant.

Latin Flavor serves lunch Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner the same days from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. For more information, visit Latin Flavor’s Facebook page or call 706-364-0580.
