Connections and Career Conference: ConceptHR

The first words you see on the ConceptHR website say: “We Know You by Name: The ConceptHR Difference.” CEO, Tim Carpenter believes strongly in that notion.

“We’re very hands-on, very close to our clients. We do what we call concierge service and put our arms around our clients to give them the best service we possibly can,” he said.

With seasoned expert staff and a reachable local CSRA presence, ConceptHR has a competitive advantage in the small-business market providing advanced technology with people-to-people support. Their clients don’t have to search a website for help or directions, they are just a phone call or email away.

“On a weekly basis, our team sends cards, gift cards, and flowers for family funerals, to celebrate birthdays, work anniversaries, and business achievements to show extended support for our ConceptHR client family. You’re never just a client number,” Carpenter said. “The value proposition is how you’re treated, and at the end of the day, that’s what’s most important. We care about the one-employee account as much as we do the 100-employee account.”

Specialized Services

Their service level goal is to give solutions that are a custom fit.

  • When a business is struggling to find employees, our applicant tracking technology and team give the tools to draw in the right candidates.
  • This feature gives an easy flow into a customized onboarding for new hires to electronically capture all that is needed for I-9 compliance providing digitally signed company documents maintained per employee.
  • Offering a time management system as part of our payroll platform is given to clients who need to ensure accuracy, track occurrences, and as a time saver to process payroll.
  • If employees need training to follow industry guidelines or ensure company policies, our learning management system will fully automate the course assignments and certificates.
  • We offer full benefits administration with a team who goes the extra mile with records of saving clients tens of thousands of dollars in insurance-related costs.
  • To also help our clients maintain long-standing employees, our 401k multiple employer plan is provided for small to large businesses yielding less fees to the employer and hassle-free administration.

These are just a few of the recommendations ConceptHR has serviced within the CSRA for over 25 years.

ConceptHR Beginnings

Carpenter is the company’s CEO and founder. He was a financial planner for 13 years, then ran an HR franchise before ConceptHR’s founding.

“We had a lot of relationships. We grew really quickly and became bigger than the franchisor. Pretty soon, we were giving the parent company advice, so we got out of our contract and changed the name around 2001,” he recalls. “The win for us continues to be our ability to meet clients where they are, while balancing technology, services, and strong relationships to exceed their expectations.

The ConceptHR Difference

Senior Account Manager, Stephanie Brantley has been at ConceptHR for 17 years. She loves her job because of the relationships she forms with each client.

“I’ve met with clients and walked away feeling like I’ve made a friend. It’s almost tangible. We’re looking for the right fit, and it is magical when you feel that camaraderie and find people who share your core values,” Brantley said. “We listen to the client’s needs to give solutions, instead of overloading them with bundled services of which many they don’t need. Many of the services that our competitors offer are the same, but the real difference is our person-to-person connection with expert staff. That sounds old-fashioned, and it may be, but that’s a good, old-fashioned concept that never goes out of style.”

That old-fashioned belief put ConceptHR in a great position for success and growth when the country came out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“When the pandemic was over, it seemed like people wanted a warm smile and a friendly handshake” Carpenter explained. “They wanted to connect again and feel valued. We were already doing that, so when the pandemic ended, we were in a great position.

Making that connection with their clients has been a constant for the ConceptHR team. The test of time has proven their success in the foundation built by the owners, their loyal clients, partners, and employees who are committed to serving with excellence.

Come experience the ConceptHR journey where your vision is our passion. Be sure to stop by the ConceptHR booth at the Augusta Business Daily Connections and Careers Conference. The event will be from 1 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, at First Baptist Church of Augusta, 3500 Walton Way Ext. Carpenter says they will have some swag and contests to win prizes.

“We just want the people in Augusta to know who we are and what we do,” Brantley said.
