CSRA Auto Group to buy another dealership

The Gerald Jones Auto Group drives a hard bargain when it comes to fellow car dealers. For the third time in the last seven years, owner Andy Jones is going on a shopping spree for dealerships.

ABD has learned a deal is being finalized for the Auto Group to close on the purchase of another dealership in the next 30-45 days.

In early 2016, the Gerald Jones Auto Group Ford purchased Bobby Jones Ford Lincoln from the heirs of former owner, Frank Lawrence. It continues to operate on Wrightsboro Road near the Augusta Mall under the name Gerald Jones Ford Lincoln.

In the summer of 2022, Jones completed the deal for the Buick GMC dealership in Graniteville, South Carolina to expand its footprint from West Augusta/Martinez into the Palmetto State. It’s now called Gerald Jones Buick GMC.

Six different brands are sold out of the Gerald Jones compound in Martinez.

These dealerships are part of a ten-brand portfolio that includes Honda, VW, Audi, Volvo, Subaru, and Mazda—all of these six are located at the Gerald Jones superstore on Flowing Wells Road in between Washington Road and Columbia Road in Martinez.

Two people with direct knowledge of the pending transaction confirmed a deal is in place. Due to confidentiality and the delicate nature of completing a closing, the Gerald Jones Auto Group is preferring to wait to comment.

Once the deal is final, there will be some consolidation of operations between GJ and the dealership they are buying.
