Faith Friday: Full Speed Ahead in Faith: Young businessman tests his faith limits, one ride at a time

Bible stories on faith Tyrique Robinson heard about as a child, he admits, didn’t mean much. Now, as a 20-year-old father of one, businessman, and military veteran, he says his faith means everything.  After all, it is only by God’s grace that he has beaten negative statistics that often plague young, Black men.

He wants to share his blessings with others through Dream Luxury Transportation & Limousine Service.

“Our motto is ‘Making Dreams Come True,’” said the Augusta native. “Transportation is my skillset, and I already had a trucking company. I wanted to grow an empire to where we are reaching more than just freight. We want to reach people and expand our mission of serving others.”

Robinson’s business, which began in July, provides limousine transportation, and private chauffeur services, including a wide inventory from sprinters (limousine model that accommodates 14 passengers and provides various amenities) to Bentleys to SUVs. The former National Guardsman says that at first, he was afraid the concept of luxury transport would be a hard sell in Augusta. But he believed there was a need he could help meet, and he leaned on his faith.

Tyrique Robinson combines his love of people and community service to offer what he calls luxury transportation. At age 20, he’s positioning himself as a formidable, and faithful, businessman in the CSRA.

“So, when we first got started with the luxury transportation side, days would go by and we didn’t get much business; however, I knew the assignment was there for me,” he said. “Faith is what got me through. The phones started ringing, and it got overwhelming to where one weekend we were booked completely.”

Since then, it’s been full speed ahead, despite unsettling gas prices, maintenance costs, and other stressors associated with sole proprietorship, even for the most mature and seasoned professional.

“The Bible says to be still and know that He is God, and He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him, Robinson said. “In this business, you have to have a spirit of outreach because you deal with people every day. Your spirit has to be genuine, and you have to want to serve people.

Dream Luxury recently expanded to offer additional transport services.

“I know if we are patient and just trust God, the business will come. Transportation is a growing field, and gas and maintenance are the biggest expense. I thank God that our company can run itself without having to borrow.”

That’s the legacy he says he wants to leave to his children: generational wealth. He’s striving to create an environment where there is no lack and a firm understanding that one must work hard daily to achieve greatness. No one owes you anything. Not even a tip for the ride.
