Free Access: Expo Preview: Partridge Inn sports a new look with traditional charm

When you travel, it’s nice to feel like you’re a guest in your own home. As a private home constructed in the 1890’s and later opened as a hotel, The Partridge Inn, 2110 Walton Way, delivers. No matter where you are from, the inn provides the kind of southern charm and hospitality you would expect in one of the oldest cities in Georgia.

Steeped in tradition, with the city’s past mingling with its bright present, the hotel has served as a gathering place for celebrities, professional athletes, dignitaries, and government officials alike. Its grand ballrooms have not only entertained the likes of President Warren G. Harding, but have also hosted generations of weddings, family gatherings, and community celebrations.

Holly White

Holly White is the General Manager with a lengthy history in hospitality. She arrived in December 2021, right in the middle of a renovation for the 113-year-old property.

“Still recovering from the impact of covid on the hospitality industry, it was time to make her more beautiful,” White said of the renovation.

The top-to-bottom update of all the hotel’s public spaces and guest rooms includes a newly designed and expansive indoor bar and restaurant, the refurbishment of its iconic rooftop bar, the addition of a bridal suite, a new lobby and completely redesigned meeting space and ballrooms. Guest rooms and suites received new bathrooms, drapes, carpeting, lighting, historic pictures, desks, nightstands, luxury linens, open closet systems with coffee stations, and new HD 55” TVs. It’s also a pet-friendly hotel.

“It was all completed in time for the ‘Big Show’ last year, the Masters, and we are already planning for the 2023 tournament to include a special menu and entertainment,” White said.

Everything from the lobby to the bathrooms were renovated at the Partridge Inn.

The Partridge Inn has also begun receiving reservations for the next Masters. White attributes some of that to those who make the annual pilgrimage to Augusta National and other guests who say, “That’s on my bucket list.”

Addressing the pandemic, White said, “It was a devastating time, but people are getting out and enjoying a normal routine for reunions, weddings, receptions, and business meetings. Our guest numbers continue to grow, and our guest numbers are almost where we were before covid.”

During The Partridge Inn renovation, meeting rooms and boardrooms were renovated.

“There are no cookie-cutter rooms,” White said. “They reflect the history of the hotel while offering updated amenities including menus from experienced Chef Thomas Jacobs upon request.”

Each guest room at the Partridge Inn is unique.

The Partridge Inn is the closest hotel to Augusta National just shy of four miles. Too far to hit a golf ball, but close enough to enjoy world-class golf and hospitality.

The Partridge Inn Augusta is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. For more information, contact Holly White, General Manager, at 706-737-8888, or visit partridgeinn.com/.
