Free Access: List your products to optimize Google Business Profile

In the previous article, we discussed how to optimize your profile on Google. Today, we will investigate two sections: Products and Services.

Your profile on Google My Business provides potential customers with relevant information about your business.

There are several ways to make your Business Profile more useful to customers. One way is to show your products on your profile so potential customers can see what products you have.

Your potential customers want to know what products you offer before they visit your store. By adding your store’s products to your Business Profile, you can help customers understand your offerings and encourage them to visit your store.

Product Section

So let’s look at the product section. Log in to your Google profile and select the products tab.

From here, click the new Products tab.

From here, we will enter several fields to get your product listed. By including products on your profile, you will showcase what you offer!

First, enter the product name. You have up to 58 characters to do this.

Next, you will select a category from the dropdown menu. If you do not have any categories created, you will simply create a new category. The category above shows “Online Marketing,” since Listings Marketing Monthly is an online marketing product geared toward expanding your listings across the internet.

Now, enter your price. If you click the show price range button, you can have minimum and maximum pricing.

Moving to the product description. Here, you will want to have the keyword or keyword phrase you are optimizing for, and make sure those keywords are in the description, preferably at the beginning. You have 1,000 characters, so, while you want to be thorough, make sure you get to the point in the first couple of sentences.

You have a choice to add a button. The button types include: Order Online, Buy, Learn More, Get Offer. In the example above, we have chosen the “Learn More” button so that we can drive traffic to our website. If you choose a button, you will get an additional field displayed to add the URL you wish to drive the traffic to.

Finally, you can hit Publish, and voilà, your product will be live within 30 minutes.

Services Section

This is a relatively straightforward section. You can find a product that Google has predefined or you can enter your own new category. Note, that Google does screen for URLs, pricing, or vulgarities, among other things.

Listing your services is another way to help you show up in customers’ search results.

So what does it all mean?

By now, you have now created your profile and entered your basic business information, and have your products and services listed. Next week, we will finish this mini-series with the completion of your Google Business profile.
