Local business owner pays attention to “details”

About a month ago, Jimmy Weeks Jr. launched his auto detailing business in downtown Augusta, but the Augusta native is no novice at helping his customers’ cars look their best.

Late last month, Weeks opened Riverside Detail at 1301 Reynolds St. across the street from KAMO. He offers a variety of services, including full detailing, hand washes, and corrosion repair. Prior to opening Riverside, Weeks owned Professional Auto Care located behind Lowe’s on Bobby Jones Expressway for 17 years. He closed that business about four years ago.

“I’ve been around cars my whole life, and I enjoy detailing cars,” Weeks said. “I have over 25 years of experience.”

He said he chose Riverside’s location, which is just across the 13th Street Bridge from North Augusta, because of all the traffic in that area. Weeks works on cars for local dealerships, and many of his former customers refer business to him.

“So far, I have no complaints,” he said.

Because Weeks wasn’t a first-time business owner, opening Riverside was easier for him, but finding the right people was still a challenge. He currently has three employees and thanks his fiancée, Lindsey Towe for her emotional and financial support.

While Augusta is home to many car detailing shops, what makes Riverside Detail unique is “our loyalty, our work, and our friendships with our customers,” Weeks said. “We take pride in our work.”

The business is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 706-501-0837.
