If you want to increase your company’s productivity or become a more effective leader, Aiken Technical College may have just the course you need. The college has begun offering The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Signature Edition 4.0 course.
The two-day, in-person class covers each of the habits, which include Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind and Put First Things First. Nikasha Dicks, Aiken Tech’s Director of Marketing and Public Relations, said it incorporates a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, videos, interactive discussions, and small-group activities.
“This is our second time offering the course,” Dicks said. “It’s not offered on a set schedule yet; it really depends on demand.”
The 7 Habits course is being offered today and next Friday, but if you missed it this time, don’t worry. She said the course will be offered again this fall, but the dates haven’t been determined yet.
The class meets from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and participants are required to attend both sessions. It’s free for South Carolina residents, but the cost for everyone else is $975.
The course was developed by Franklin Covey, a national business coaching company, and is based on Stephen Covey’s best-selling 1989 book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.”
J. David Jameson, President, and CEO of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce said the course is an excellent professional learning experience for business leaders.
“An offering like this allows business owners and managers to be motivated by one nugget of new information or serve as a reinforcement of something they’re already doing effectively,” Jameson said. “Either way, it’s a win-win opportunity.”
