As far as she knows, Lisa Leanne offers the CSRA’s only laydown pedicure and gives her clients a unique experience they can’t find at other nail salons.
Leanne, a licensed master cosmetologist, has owned Esthetics with Love Salon and Spa located at 930 Stevens Creek Road, Suite 4 in Augusta for a little over a year. Besides pedicures, she also offers other services, including manicures and facials.
Leanne has even created her own scrub called Don’t Be Salty and a body butter called Butter Me Up.
“I’ve always loved the beauty industry,” Leanne said. “I started Esthetics with Love to give people space to relax without everything going on around them.”
Unlike other salon owners, she sees clients one at a time.
“My salon helps people feel comfortable with what’s going on with the pandemic, too,” Leanne said. “It’s truly a one-on-one experience.”
After finishing cosmetology school at Central Georgia Technical College, she knew she didn’t want to be a hairstylist. Leanne began her cosmetology career by working at a nail salon.
“I realized I wanted to do it on my own,” she said. “I’ve always been independent like that; I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset.”
At 23, Leanne started her own cleaning business.
She admits she’s a perfectionist whose pedicure appointments last 90 minutes each.
“I take my time and make sure every part of the process is done correctly,” Leanne said. “People aren’t as meticulous as I am.”
The biggest challenge she’s faced as an entrepreneur has been building a clientele. When Leanne came to Augusta, she didn’t know anyone except Camron Attaway, who’s now her fiancé. Leanne began by networking with other women who had worked in the cosmetology industry much longer than she had.
“Networking and referrals are really important,” she said. “If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.”
Leanne said her services and attention to detail haven’t gone unnoticed. Esthetics with Love was recently selected as Best Regional Spa by Georgia Business Journal. She still doesn’t know which of her clients nominated her for the award.
“I have all five-star reviews on Google and Facebook,” Leanne said. “My clients love having the one-on-one experience, and they love how relaxing the space is.”
She stays very busy but loves taking care of her clients.
“You’re not just a number or dollar sign,” Leanne said. “Self-care isn’t selfish.”
