When you think of popular brands, companies like Starbucks and Nike may come to mind. Branding is one of the most important things business owners do, yet few know how to build a strong brand and convey it to employees and the public, according to Kate Sanders.

Sanders, Chief Operating Officer and co-owner of Alison South Marketing Group, along with President Cynthia South, will discuss that topic at the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Third Thursday Business Builder on Thursday, May 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Chamber Conference Room.
Branding is a marketing tool companies use to inform customers about their products and services. It distinguishes a company from its competitors by incorporating various elements, including logos, design, and messaging.
“We’re going to talk about how you create your brand, how you capitalize on it, and how consumer research can give insight into what matters most to your customers,” she said.

At Alison South, Sanders oversees a team of more than 50 employees, while South co-founded the agency, which provides a variety of marketing services to its clients, including social media, branding, and graphic design.
Its local clients have included Hill Top Animal Hospital, 2nd City Distilling Co., and Sig Cox Heating & Air Conditioning.
The event is free for Chamber members and $15 for prospective members. The registration deadline is today at 2 p.m. For more information or to register, visit augustametrochamber.com/events/third-thursday-business-builder-may-2022.
