Local real estate and estate planning attorney to celebrate grand opening of new office

Markus Russell loves real estate and worked in the industry as both an agent and paralegal before earning a law degree and opening his own office in downtown Augusta.

On Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Russell, who specializes in real estate closings and estate planning, will celebrate the grand opening of the Law Offices of Markus L. Russell, LLC located on the first floor of Enterprise Mill at 1450 Greene St., Suite 145.

The drop-in event will include food, drinks, goodie bags, and an iPad giveaway. The office opened on July 1.

“I enjoy helping clients and seeing their faces light up when the house is finally theirs,” he said.

Russell said buying a house is often more transactional than personal and involves submitting and signing many documents and forms.

“We’re just trying to make it more pleasant,” he said.

Prior to graduating from the Appalachian School of Law in Virginia last year, Russell worked as a paralegal for another local law firm for four years.

“I was doing so much work for other people and wanted to work for myself,” he said. “I wanted to put together facts for clients and offer solutions.”

The Law Offices of Markus Russell will specialize in real estate and estate planning.

Russell said attracting new clients has been the hardest part of opening his office, but he’s happy about continuing to work in the real estate industry.

“Real estate has always been my thing; we invest in it and own properties, so it kind of made sense,” he said.
