Local spa and salon suddenly closes

The owner of Aqua Salon and Spa at 138 Davis Road, Suite H took a personal leave of absence in April and left her business in the hands of her employees. She hoped to return to an improving business. Instead, Aqua is now closed permanently in the newly re-done shopping center between Washington Road and Pleasant Home Road.

It is not clear whether employees made the decision or the landlord, as the Aqua owner had fallen behind on paying staff and rent—according to one employee, who told ABD she took another position with a nearby salon.

Years ago under different ownership, Aqua Salon and Spa had two locations—Ponder Place in Evans and Walton Way Extension in a shopping center next to Gold’s Gym. The original owners closed the Ponder Place location and sold off the West Augusta location of Aqua to a stylist, who just recently took a personal leave of absence.

Just prior to Covid 19, the new owner closed the Walton Way extension location and downsized to the current Davis Road location.

Now, it appears as though the Aveda featured product salon is closed permanently.
