Local wellness studio owners offer holistic approach to common ailments

A few years ago, Jamie Cressend battled a chronic health problem and traditional medical treatments offered little relief, so she decided to try a holistic approach to healing.

When Cressend, co-owner of Synergy Studio located at 7013 Evans Town Center Blvd., Suite 203 in Evans, discovered scalar light therapy, she found rapid relief from her pain. Cressend and her business partner, Amy Iseman held their business’s soft opening on Tuesday, May 2, and its grand opening on Saturday, May 6.

Scalar light therapy refers to the use of light waves from a set of specialized machines called an Energy Enhancement System to allow the body to heal itself.

Jamie Cressend and Amy Iseman are co-owners of Synergy Studio which offers light therapy sessions.

“It’s not a medical device; it doesn’t have FDA approval,” Cressend said. “It creates an environment where the body can heal itself.”

But they said light therapy offers a variety of benefits, including increased energy, better sleep, pain relief, and improved memory, as well as relief from anxiety and depression.

“It really works deep in the mitochondria and DNA,” Iseman said.

They said at first, many are skeptical about the treatment but that hasn’t stopped people from giving it a try.

“The results speak for themselves,” Cressend said.

The scalar light therapy uses specialized equipment which emits light waves for a variety of benefits.

“We want to bring as many people in and share with as many people as possible,” Iseman said.

Like Cressend, she dealt with a health condition that didn’t improve until she tried holistic treatments, such as scalar light therapy.

Cressend said therapy is meant to complement, not replace, standard medical treatments, and emphasized that they aren’t critical of the health care system. She’s a physical therapist, and Iseman is a licensed counselor.

They offer one-hour sessions for $50, various membership packages, and even overnight stays.

“We offer pet visits on Mondays,” Cressend said.

“We’ve heard so many amazing stories from other centers,” Iseman said. “We wanted to bring it to Augusta.”

Synergy Studio is open Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit synergystudiocollective.com/ or call 762-333-8940.
