A popular family-owned South Augusta seafood restaurant plans to reopen after being closed for several months due to a fire.

Located at 3416 Mike Padgett Highway, T’s Restaurant has been in business for close to 70 years. According to the restaurant’s website, it opened in its current location in 1952 and has been closed since Sept. 7, 2020 – Labor Day – due to a fire that caused extensive damage inside the restaurant. A customer asked when the restaurant – owned by Garrett Fulcher – will reopen on a local Facebook networking page, and his daughter, Lindsey Fulcher, responded. “We will reopen,” Fulcher wrote. “It’s just taking a lot longer than we anticipated.”

She says they aren’t certain yet when T’s will reopen, but it should happen no later than early next year, hopefully, sooner. ABD called the restaurant, and a recording explains they’re trying to reopen in September. Some people responded to the Facebook post by speculating that it will reopen in a new location, possibly in Columbia County. But Fulcher says that’s not true. “We will not be moving, but we are remodeling,” she wrote.
